COLOUR RUN DATE CHANGE - FRIDAY 18 SEPTEMBER

14 September 2020

COLOUR RUN DATE CHANGE - FRIDAY 18 SEPTEMBER

 Dear Parent/Carer

On this Friday 18 September, the Cross Country Carnival will be run on the school grounds. Students should come to school in their PE uniform on this day. Students will have normal Home Group, followed by shortened Period 1, with recess at 10.00am.

The first part of the carnival after recess will be the Extreme Cross Country which will be for those students who wish to compete at a competitive level.  All other students will be spectators for this event. Students should make sure they bring a drink bottle. During the event spectators will be sitting on the bank in house groups – they should have a coat and something to sit on.

At lunch time there will be a barbecue, with all funds raised going to MS. There will be limited items available from the school canteen at this time.

After lunch the Colour Run or Fun Run in support of MS will take place. All students will participate in this event, whether they walk, jog, or run the course. Students are asked to donate a gold coin in Home Group in support of this.

If students wish to participate in the Colour Run they will need to have a change of clothes - old clothes should be worn, preferably white, for the full effect of the colour. Colour will be sprayed by teachers only and below the shoulders. Students can change into these old clothes at lunch and following the run change back into school PE uniform. Students should bring a plastic bag to put the old clothes into after the run.  For further protection-students can wear sunglasses, hat and bandana. (Colour powder is corn starch, baking soda and dyes).

Students who are not in old clothes will participate in the Fun Run in their PE uniform. Students in PE uniform will not be sprayed with colour – they will have a different pathway at the checkpoints.

Following the Colour Run students will be required to change back into their PE uniforms. There will be a Celebration Assembly in the Gymnasium and all students will be dismissed from the Gymnasium at the end of the day.

If you have any queries regarding this event, please do not hesitate to contact the School on 6228 8800.

Yours sincerely

Duncan Groves
